Sole Ferragamo
Co-founder and Artistic Director

Making things with my hands is my passion. This is the result of growing up in Florence with its architectural beauty and talented craftsmen, as well as being in a family with design at its heart.

While my degree from Politecnico of Milan gave solid foundations to my design process, I chose to step away from architecture. I wanted to design and create something that I could hold in my hands.

After one year of working in two factories, creating pieces with leather and metal, I had a clear vision of what I wanted to do: turn the beautiful leather that every year is abandoned by the fashion and luxury industry into a cherished piece of jewellery.

While I was studying for my Master’s degree at Central Saint Martins University, I won first place in the fourth International Design Competition ‘Craft the Leather’, and held exhibitions in Milan and Rome to showcase my designs.

After graduation, I opened my first pop-up store in London where I also met Leila who became my first customer and now my business partner.

The pop-up store was a great success and we decided to grow the business into a global brand.

My wish is, and has always been, to bring a smile to my customer’s face, even if it is by simply creating a piece of jewellery you like!

Co-founder and Commercial Director

It was love at first sight. I walked into Sole’s first pop-up store in London in 2016, on the day of her opening but a few hours before the launch. I immediately fell in love with her designs and made a purchase on the spot. I am officially Sole’s first customer!

My obsession with jewellery goes back a long way. Some of my fondest childhood memories are that of shopping for jewellery with my grandmother. She had an eye for design and a taste in fashion, one that I hope she passed on to me along with teaching me about jewellery.

My background is an eclectic one.

Before joining Sole, I worked as a management consultant at a boutique consultancy in London for almost four years.

Previously I worked in finance as a trader and risk analyst in Canada. I have also delved into the world of development and humanitarian aid by conducting research on effectiveness of the UN’s Humanitarian Reform Agenda in northern Uganda and working as child protection officer with UNICEF in Iran.

My bachelor’s degree is in commerce, majoring in finance at Ryerson University (Toronto, Canada) and then I went on to study my postgraduate in development management at the London School of Economics.

I am now responsible for managing the commercial aspect of our business.
